This week, we honored Human Trafficking Awareness Month by coordinating a Jewish Day of Action to End Human Trafficking with Hadassah. Check out our impact on Twitter! Linda Geller-Schwartz wrote a powerful blog post reflecting on the recent horrors in Paris, and in her Huffington Post piece CEO Nancy K. Kaufman prepared for the anniversary of Roe v. Wade about “mainstreaming a radical vision” with a reproductive justice framework. To that end, to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of Roe, we are hosting a distance learning call featuring NCJW section leaders and a guest from the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) who will speak to how to make the dream of Roe real, by advocating for affordable access and reproductive justice.
Across the country, the Cleveland Section honored Human Trafficking Awareness Month by amplifying the messages of their anti-sex trafficking initiative. The West Morris County Section plans to co-sponsor a prayer program to in remembrance of the victims of the Paris attacks. Debbie Walsh, the Director of the Center for American Women and Politics, will be speaking to the Essex County Section about women’s political involvement at an upcoming Lunch and Learn program. In the wake of the Ferguson decision, the St. Louis Section will be co-sponsoring an event titled, “Mother 2 Mother: Conversations with Black Mothers to White Mothers” to open up the dialogue for difficult but critical conversations.
A Faith in the Future A Belief in Action.
